The strength and power of a community, and the need to harness it,
What do you think of when you hear that word, “community”? I think of a farmers market honestly. A group of people, bringing their local goods to others, and building relationships. '
Traditionally, communities are not very connected;
Resources are disconnected.
Organizations often work independently.
Local businesses struggle to get visibility.
Nonprofits and ministries need help reaching people.
Important community issues don't receive enough attention.
People don't always know where to find the help, information, or opportunities available to them.
This isn’t any one person’s fault, We live in a taxing world. It’s not easy to work, be a parent, a friend, remember to take care of yourself, and do your taxes (the scariest of them all in my opinion).
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our goal at The Coalition is to foster a system that makes collaboration easier, and mutually beneficial. It should be easy for a business to support their community while growing their profits. It should be easy for an overtaxed nonprofit to get the support they need. It should be easy for a struggling family to get the resources that would get them above water.
We believe that system is possible. But it takes all of us. We all have a beautiful part to play in making the place we call home an amazing one.
